McLuhan lost that early kind of celebrity because 
as with anything that is a celebrity, it comes and it 
goes. I mean, you rarely have a case where 
somebody is really on and really in the public eye 
and they stay that way for a long time. So then 
you started to have articles like, “Whatever 
happened to Marshall McLuhan? Where did this guy 
go?”
